10 Horror Movies to That'll Satisfy Your Need for Spookiness in 2022

Get ready to scream!

Since the disappointment that was the year 2020, people have stopped claiming that the new year is going to be the year. We're all just hoping for a nice, quiet, normal, okay 2022. We don't need any more shocking events, bombshells, and plot twists. The most excitement and scares I want to get are from the horror movies coming out in next year. And the lineup's already shaping up to be quite awesome.

IDK about you, but sometimes scary movies can help distract me from the terrifying thoughts and events that haunt me IRL. A solid hour and a half of focusing on trying to prepare and predict when the next jump scare is coming is a nice—albeit stressful, but also thrilling—break from reality. This year we're getting a really good roster, which includes a number of big film franchise revivals and sequels, a new dark turn for Marvel, a star-studded thriller headlined by Harry Styles and Florence Pugh, another much-anticipated Jordan Peele masterpiece, and so many more hair-raisingly, nail-bitingly good flicks that'll definitely keep you on your toes. There's no need to wait for Halloween. Just look at the list below, mark your calendars, set a movie date with your friend or S.O. for as early as January, and get ready for the best horror movies you can look forward to in 2022.
